The Lunar New Year (Jun 18) marks Year 11, Moon 136 Day 4,016 of theAbysmal’s Era 2, which began Year 0 Moon 0 Day 0 on Jun 19 2012.

theAbysmal Lunar Calendar is a means of harmonizing, or at the very least mediating between all of the calendars in use around the world. The official holidays are the diverse New Years celebrations, whether lunar or solar, observation- or rules-based, religious or secular. In this manner, we all begin all of our years together.

theAbysmal Calendar has gone through a number of changes since its inception in 2005 and its launch in 2012. The most significant changes are to the Leap Day, which has shifted from Dec 20 to Jun 21, and the Lunar Year, which begins at the New Moon prior to the Northern Solstice (i.e. the New Moon prior to Jun 20-21).

The following calendars include weekdays; the Lunar Day, Moon, Year; the Gregorian date; number and glyph from the 260-day calendar. They exclude the Leap Day, which falls Jun 21 after Feb 29.

theAbysmal Lunar Calendar has been updated with a number of calendar images for both Solar and Lunar calendars, the purpose being to compare how different calendars frame the year differently.

For the moment, the Solar Calendars are simpler as the months are relatively consistent from year-to-year. With Lunar Calendars, the months change from year-to-year, and depending on where you are in the world, the number of days of the month might be 29 in one place and 30 in another.

theAbysmal Lunar Calendar counts the days, Moons, and years linearly, such that any lunar month can be translated from one system to another.
