Another cycle of 260 Days begins
Today on theAbysmal Calendar (Mar 23 2024) marks day 1~I (Turtle) on the 260-Day Calendar. This Calendar organized by 13-day weeks as well as a series of 20 glyphs indicated by the Roman numeral. Today, 1~I (Turtle) is the first day of the 17th 260-day cycle since the first 1~I (Turtle) of Era 2, on Oct 30 2012.

This signifies another new year of sorts, the beginning of another cycle of 260 days. It’s generated by the two cycles, 13 and 20, which is something that we don’t experience with the Gregorian. The 7 day week is one cycle, but we don’t observe a second regular period of days to coincide with it. The coincidence of 13 and 20, however, generates a great number of regular patterns, particularly when associated with the 365 days of the year.
The glyphs gain meaning as events unfold. A simple example would be glyph IX (Moon). Notice when it coincides with New & Full Moons, and especially eclipses, as well as Mondays (NB Such a triple date occurs at the beginning of a 19-year lunar cycle in theAbysmal system).
